Whereas Ann, the Wife of Samuel
Gumbleton, eloped from her husband the 17th of April
last, and has not since been heard of; it is reported that she is
recommended into some of Lord Galway's family—this is to
desire her to return, and she shall be kindly received by her said
husband; and all Gentleman are desired to inspect into their
servants, as she may have changed her name: She is a short fat
woman, and has lived as a cook in several Gentlemen's families, and
may be apprehended by having a recommendation from William Whitacre,
Esq. of Motcombe, near Shaftesbury, Dorset, or from A.B. Bennet, Esq.
of Donhead St Mary. She is upwards of 50 years of age, of a brown
complexion, dark hair, and grey eyes, had on a plain country dress when
she eloped: Whosoever shall entertain her after this advertisement,
shall be prosecuted as the law directs, by me
