| Elizabeth Ann Gumbleton was a daughter of Samuel Gumbleton and his wife Caroline, nee Ayling. She was born on 28 May 1861 in the Chichester Registration District, in Sussex. In 1861, the family were living at 13 Chapel Street, Chichester.
By 1881, she had left home and was working as a cook for a retired draper at Tower House, Whippingham, Hampshire. By 1890, she had moved to London and was living at 95 Suffield Rd, Tottenham, from which address she was married, in that year, to Edward Sutton Lewis, an engineer, living at the same address. In 1908 she died, aged 47, of Bright’s disease (a form of kidney disease), at 60 Hudson Road, Plumstead. | ||
