|Mary Jane GUMBLETON was a daughter of John GUMBLETON and Mary (nee GRAY). She was born in 1870 in Shaftesbury, Dorset, England and baptised 26 Jun 1870 at Shaftesbury, St James.
In the 1871 census, the family were living in St James Street, Shaftesbury, where Mary Jane's father was a mason's labourer. The were still in St James Street (at no. 61) in the 1881 census, when Mary was a scholar.
By 1891, Mary Jane was working as a general domestic servant in the household of Harry Tauber (a butcher) and his wife, in "Breach", Shaftesbury St James.
Nothing further is known for certain of Mary Jane, but she is probably the Mary Gumbleton who was married in Portsea, Hampshire, in 1898.(probably to James SHARLEY.
