Fred Songhurst War Vet Dies
Frederick George Songhurst, 63, of Nairn Avenue died yesterday at the Ontario Hospital on Queen Street. Born in England, Mr. Songhurt came to Toronto as a boy. He was a CPR yardmaster for many years. He served overseas in the great War. Surviving are his wife, formerly Emily Gumbleton, and two daughters Mrs. Alec Eurke and Mrs. John Duncan, of Long Branch. The funeral will be from the Jarrett Funeral Chapel, St. Claire Ave. W., on Monday at 2 p.m. to the Veteran's Plot, Prospect Cemetery.
Prospect Cemetery, Toronto, Ontario verified that Frederick Songhurst was buried on Monday, 19 Jan 1942 in Section 7, Lot 5196 of the Veterans' Plot, Prospect Cemetery, 1450 St Clair Avenue West, Toronto, ON M6E 1C6.
