Sale of the rights of the Manor of Twyning

It is hereby agreed that Charles Ball of Shuthanger House, Twyning, Nr Tewkesbury is the Purchaser of the Property described in the accompanying Particulars of Sale, from the Rt. Revd. Bishop Maxwell-Gumbleton, DD of Hitcham Rectory, Near Ipswich, the Vendor, at the price of £500 subject to the accompanying Conditions of Sale, the sum of £50 having been paid to Messrs. Christopher & North as a deposit and in part payment of the purchase money, and that the purchase shall be made and completed according to the said Conditions of Sale, so far as the same are applicable to a sale by private treaty

As witness our hands this 1st day of February 1946

Particulars

All that Lordship of the Manor of Twyning in the County of Gloucester together with all manorial rights attaching thereto in under and over the Commons known as Brokeridge, Hillend, Showborough, Shuthanger Commons and Ratley Green.

Special conditions of sale

The deposit shall be 10 per cent of the purchase -money and shall be paid to Christopher & North of 9 Clifford Street, W1

The day for completion of the purchase shall be 25th March 1946

The Vendors Solicitors are Christopher & North whose office is at 9 Clifford Street, W1

The Vendor sells as absolute owner.

The title shall commence with the general devise contained in the Will dated 23rd May 1882 of Richard John Maxwell-Gumbleton who died on the 20th September 1889. The Purchaser shall not call for evidence of the earlier Title or make any requisition or objection in respect thereof.
