In the name of God amen I John Gumbleton of the parish of Long Critchell in the County of Dorsett yeoman being sick and weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament in form following first I give my soul into the hands of almighty God that gave it hoping and trusting in the merits of Jesus Christ to have forgiveness of all my sins and for my body I comend it to the earth to be buried in a Christian like maner at the discretion of mine executor and for my worldly goods as it hath pleased God to bless me withall I give and dispose of in the following maner first I will that my debts and funeral charges shall be paid and discharged Item I give unto my dearly beloved wife whome I do make and ordain my full and sole Executor all my personal estate goods and chattles whatsoever by her freely to be possesssed and enjoyed during her naturall life and after her decease it shall remain to my grand children John and Sarah Gumbleton and it is my will and meaning that after the decease of my wife all my goods and chattles given to my wife for her to enjoy during her natural life shall be equally divided between my grandchildren John and Sarah and it is my will and meaning that my wife may sell and dispose as much of my goods and chattles as shall have occasion to sell for her suport and maintenance and I do hereby revoke and make void all former wills and testaments in witness whereof I have signed sealed published and declared to be his last will and testament in the presence of us the word (my) first interlined
