Newspapers and journals: Marriage of Annie Gumbleton, 1857
Marriages At Lismore Cathedral, on the 10th September, by the Ven. the Archdeacon of Lismore, Robert Beaufoy Hawley, Major depot battalion, to Annie, second daughter of John Bowen Gumbleton, Esq., J.P., Fort William, county Waterford. The bride was attired in a most magnificent dress of the most costly description, and wore a gorgeous necklace, with five exquisite pendants attached, and which was a bridal present to her from His Grace the Duke of Devonshire. The lovely and accomplished bride was attended by eight bridesmaids, scarcely less beautiful than herself. At the conclusion of the cermony the gallant Major and his bride proceeded to Fort William House, where, after partaking of a sumptuous dejeuner, they left for the romantic Lakes of Killarney.
