|Richard Henry Gumbleton was a son of Henry Conner Gumbleton and Sarah, nee Massy.
In 1835 he married Catherine Elizabeth Moore, eldest daughter of Hon. Ponsonby Moore and niece to the Marquess of Drogheda and Lord Ashdown. According to Burke they had one daughter.
In 1837 a case was brought against him in the Court of Exchequer for evicting a family from his property having previously agreed that they could pay a lower rent.
He seems to have got into a certain amount of debt and, in 1842, sold some of his lands “for the payment of incumbrances”.
