| Thomas Gumbleton was born in about 1838 in Ireland. He emigrated to the USA some time in the 19th century.
He was married twice: firstly to Ann Egan on 19 Apr 1852 in Wayne County, Michigan and, secondly, to Anna McKenna. Thomas Gumbleton was accidentally killed by carriages of the Michigan Central Railroad Company on 13 Jan 1874. He died intestate but his widow applied for letters of administration, at least partly because compensation for his death was due from the Railroad Company. Thomas Gumbleton and Ann, neé Egan, had three children: and Thomas Gumbleton and Anna McKenna had a further four children, mentioned as minors in Anna Gumbleton’s 1875 application for letters of administration.
