| Robert George GUMBLETON, born 1878, was a son of John Thomas GUMBLETON and Martha formerly SIMONS.
In 1901 he was a book seller at 12 St Mary's Street, Canterbury. In 1911, he was living with his mother at 25 St Peter's Street, Bedford, where he was a knitter and hosier. However, it is believed that he was the R Gumbleton who travelled from London to Sydney, Australia, aged 30, in 1911. In 1914 he married Alice Devorna PROCTOR, at Bathurst. He was then described as manager of the Orange Commonwealth Shoe Company. He was divorced in 1929. In 1923, his sister Janet GUMBLETON travelled to New South Wales, Australia, apparently visiting a brother in Bathurst. This brother is believed to be Robert George GUMBLETON. He died in 1950 in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia. | ||||||||||
