| Samuel Gumbleton was a son of Roger Gumbleton of Donhead St Mary, Wiltshire, and Martha, nee Foyle, his wife. He was baptised on 31 Dec 1746 at Donhead St Mary.
In 1771, he married Ann Clarke at Donhead. His wife left him in 1788 and, in 1789, he placed an advert in the Salisbury and Winchester Journal, seeking her return. He died in 1798 and was buried at Donhead St Mary. | ||
