|George Conner Gumbleton was a son of Richard Joseph Gumbleton and Elizabeth, nee, Conner, his wife. He was born about 1759 and only took the middle name 'Conner' later in life: it is, for example, used in his father's will.
In 1776, his father died and he was a beneficiary of the will, receiving a share of the Gumbleton lands in Ireland. Also in 1776 he was admitted, aged 17, to the university of Dublin. He graduated with a BA in 1781.
He seems to have had a son, Richard Gumbleton, before his marriage, but on 13 Jun 1792, he married Catherine Quin, by licence. She was the daughter of Standish O’Grady and the widow of Rev. John Quin who died in 1789 without issue.
George Conner Gumbleton died in co. Devon, in 1796. His will was proved the same year.
