| George Gumbleton was a son of Robert Warren Gumbleton and his wife Margaret, nee Bowen.
He entered Trinity College, Dublin, on 4 Oct 1813, aged 16. He graduated with a BA in 1818 and became an Anglican clergyman. In 1830, he married his cousin Sarah Gumbleton. Sarah Gumbleton died and he married his second wife, Frances Penrose in 1835. They had two children. He was vicar of the parishes of Affane and Aglish, county Waterford, which were in the presentation of the Duke of Devonshire. He resigned from that office in 1839. He lived at Belgrove House, on the Great Island in Cork Harbour. He died there in 1860. | ||||||||||
